Responsibilities:

This role works closely with the other Managers within the Strategic Portfolio Office, as well as the strategy and planning teams within eHealth and the Department to provide a full complement of eHealth portfolio investment management services to our customers.

  • Setting strategic direction for eHealth investment management and actively managing the team, clearly articulating services, functions and key activities in line with the Work Plan and Strategy, Architecture and Information Services Branch’s Operational Plan.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and other work teams to promote multidisciplinary eHealth collaboration and drive the delivery of quality and connected investment governance, appraisal and advisory services. This includes advice to support the Investment Assurance Committee and System ICT Advisory Committee.
  • Leading eHealth engagement, and building strong collaborative relationships, with key central government agencies to drive clear understanding and support for eHealth investment and funding proposals and priorities. Key stakeholders include (but are not limited to) Premier and Cabinet, Queensland Treasury, and the Queensland Government Chief Customer and Digital Office.
  • Promoting linkages and driving consistency and alignment between eHealth and other investment management and governance processes, practices and solutions adopted within the Department, health system and across Queensland Government.
  • Remaining abreast of emerging developments in portfolio investment, benefits and change management (including investment governance) to ensure early adoption of quality and streamlined practices within Queensland Health.

Are you right for this role?

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to achieve improvements in investment governance, evaluation and appraisal.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a diplomatic approach and the ability to liaise and relate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives in central agencies.
  • Highly developed research, analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills including the proven capacity to initiate appropriate strategic and operational responses on the eHealth portfolio across the health system.
  • Highly developed written communication skills with the proven ability to develop quality investment and funding proposals and submissions for consideration by governance committees, Cabinet and CBRC.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Queensland Government investment governance approval and funding processes, including Cabinet and ICT investment governance
  • Investment Appraisal and Evaluation
  • Portfolio, Program and Project Management
  • Experience working within either the Government or Health Sectors
  • Qualifications in Investment Management, Public Policy and/or Portfolio Management would be highly regarded.
