Our Cross-Domain Computing Solutions Department (XC) is responsible for developing Body Computer Modules, Secure Central Gateways and Vehicle Security Products. With capabilities covering end-to-end, the complete Development and New Product Introduction process we are managing and implementing global platform projects, tailored for our Original Equipment customers.
Job Description
Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Undergraduate IP Management Student Engineer to join our XC team on a full-time basis for 12-months commencing July 2024. This role may involve domestic and international travel for internal projects.

You will gain valuable experience and knowledge as an integral part of our XC team. Some of the tasks that you will undertake with us include:

  • Supporting intellectual property activities and investigations for new product designs, components, or systems, consulting project engineers or managers as needed.
  • Supporting the development of Intellectual property life cycle process, methods, and training, consulting project managers or engineers as necessary.
  • Managing patent portfolio and release process, including payments and invoicing.
  • Guiding engineers through patent release process from innovation to patent release.
  • Supporting and coaching team members on intellectual property, patents, and invention reports, clarifying with stakeholders as required.
  • Management of IP approvals, discussions, workshops, release and administrative activities (such as lodgment and payments)
  • Collaborating with various engineering disciplines to ensure that requirements are met with intellectual property management.
  • Supporting interdisciplinary discussions on intellectual property

Qualifications
You will have excellent attention to detail, have the ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines, work well with teams and have excellent organisational and communication skills.

To be considered for our Student Program, you are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Be currently enrolled in and completed units towards an Engineering Undergraduate degree (Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics or Electrical)

Desirable:

  • Good understanding of Training and Process deployment.
  • Proficiency in requirements engineering and cascading requirements to other areas.
  • Understanding of Intellectual Property and Patent management
  • Good understanding of Product Life Cycle (PLC) and Defect management lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills and grasp of negotiation principles (internal and external)
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and familiarity with methodologies like PSS and 8D.
  • Experience collaborating with cross discipline teams.
  • Ability to engage with customers, elicit requirements, and contribute to concept development.
  • Experience with technical products
