JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As a key member of the Pharmacy Automation Operations staff, the ISC Business Integrator & Operations (Warehouse/Distribution) Leader will be responsible for driving the development and execution of operational strategies associated with SynMed/Parata products with a primary focus on delivery and cost. Performance objectives will be centered largely on enabling the business (or platforms within the business) to achieve and exceed revenue and growth goals and reacting when achievement of goals is at risk. The incumbent will provide the leadership and troubleshooting acumen necessary to identify optimal solutions to operational problems and work cross-functionally to coordinate timely and effective problem resolution.

As a key member of the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) staff, the ISC Business Integrator & Operations (Warehouse/Distribution) Leader will be responsible for driving the development and execution of operational strategies associated with SynMed/Parata products with a focus on delivery and cost. Additionally, this role will have dotted line reporting into the into the Manger Operations BD – Canada with a focus on inventory management and spare parts distribution. Performance objectives will be centered largely on enabling the business to achieve and exceed revenue and growth goals and reacting when achievement of goals is at risk. The ISC Business Integrator & Operations (Warehouse/Distribution) Leader will provide the leadership acumen necessary to identify optimal solutions to operational problems and work cross-functionally to coordinate timely and effective problem resolution.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • BS/BEng/BA degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of demonstrated leadership in a Supply Chain & Operations environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in program, project, or operations management
  • Financial acumen; Finance experience a plus
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Work autonomously with little day-to-day oversight
  • Travel as required (not more than 20%)
  • Engage with both senior company leaders, production and warehouse associates
  • Clearly articulate plans and priorities to a variety of audiences and make compelling arguments in support of them
  • Professionally represent BD when interacting with internal and external partners

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of Parata and SynMed manufacturing strategies and objectives, ensuring their linkage to business strategies. Creates execution plans to achieve those strategies and objectives.
  • Works with business (or platform) teams and Supply Chain to assess capacity needs. Develops capacity and sourcing plans. Proactively communicates issues and plans to overcome them. Takes a visible leadership role in capacity assurance.
  • Collaborates with SynMed portfolio, plants, Engineering, R&D, and others to assess design, process development, and manufacturing plans for continuous improvement and new product introduction. Directly, participates on teams supporting these efforts for significant programs.
  • Makes recommendations around and manages the transfer of production processes between sites, to include equipment, process, and material supply. Plays a key role in all site selection decisions.
  • Manages the oversight of inventory management, shipping, receiving and transportation activities for the BD – Canada Service depot supporting the BD Medication Management Solutions, BD Interventional, BD Diagnostics Systems and BD Biosciences businesses
  • Manages the relationship with Canadian suppliers
  • Collaborates with the business unit Service leadership team to ensure a positive customer experience in the delivery of depot and field service to support BD technologies
  • Direct management responsibility for the service centre warehouse associates. Leads associate training, coaching and development activities. Supervises daily responsibilities and assigns tasks and balances workload to ensure key performance indicators and service levels are met
  • Manages and assures compliance at the facility with all applicable local, provincial and federal policies related to human resources, health & safety, quality and Health Canada regulatory requirements in alignment with BD policies and procedures
  • Works with business teams and supply chain to assess capacity needs. Develops capacity and sourcing plans. Proactively communicates issues and plans to overcome them. Takes a visible leadership role in capacity assurance.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and management of spend performance against budgets, forecasts, and targets.
  • Ensures that appropriate communication processes are established within the site
  • Oversee Canadian Inventory levels and support company inventory initiatives
  • Canadian Suppliers (associated with Pharmacy Automation) executive Sponsor
  • Lead Project Team in moving all distribution activities from Montreal into the BD Canadian Distribution Network ASAP.
  • Provide Field Quality Support where necessary
  • Provide Logistics/Trade compliance support where necessary
  • Oversee success of future BD network optimization initiatives in Canada
