Description:

IT AND TELECOMS INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

The Service Delivery team are one of our fastest growing teams, and we’re looking for a new IT & Telecoms Engineer to join them. Working primarily in a field-based role and reporting into our Projects & Engineering Team Leader, you will be involved in the installation and maintenance of all Aerial Direct provided IT and Telecoms equipment and software.
You may currently be working as an IT or Telecoms Engineer, and ideally you’ll have a solid understanding of site surveys, installation and maintenance of a range of telephony and IT based solutions. As much as your technical skills count, your ability to work unsupervised & under pressure are important along with your customer service abilities.

You’ll get involved in:

  • Site Surveys and Technical Scoping.
  • Access points and point to point solutions
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Routers and Firewalls for Leased Lines and other Connectivity
  • Integration of CRM systems
  • Programming and installation of Laptops or Desktops
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Servers
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Microsoft 365, Anti-Virus, Remote Management Systems and Backup solutions
  • Fault finding and testing
  • Complete job sheets, network diagrams and survey information for all jobs and completing risk assessments for each site
  • Ensuring customers are confident and trained appropriately on their services

Ideally, you’ll have experience/knowledge of:

  • Site Surveys or Technical Scoping
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Hosted Telephony Solutions, Cabling and Networking and Virtual PBX (or onsite PBX)
  • Access points and point to point solutions – Ubiquiti
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Routers and Firewalls for Leased Lines and other Connectivity – Draytek, WatchGuard
  • Wi-Fi solutions – Ubiquiti
  • Programming and installation of Laptops or Desktops – Dell and HP
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Servers – Virtual and on Prem
  • Programming, maintenance and installation of Microsoft 365, Anti-Virus, Remote Management Systems and Backup solutions
  • High level of understanding of SIP, including configuration, protocol and SIP trunking.
  • High level of IP understanding, networking, and VLAN
  • Be able to complete Microsoft 365 migration and new tenant set up
  • Cabling to a high level, leaving it tidy and tagged
  • High level of Hosted and PBX Telecoms configuration and fault finding of the system, handsets and other connected products
  • Ability to configure routers
  • Door entry system programming, maintenance and installation
  • Fault finding and testing
  • Training Customers

It would be great if you have:

  • Microsoft qualifications would be an advantage
