IT Application Engineer (f/m/x)

Your Role

The Digital Content Platforms department is one of six strategic units within the Corporate IT department Digital Experience Platforms and is responsible for the implementation of central IT platforms for digital content and with a focus on digital media, marketing and language technologies for all ZEISS business units and corporate functions worldwide. The focus is on comprehensive application management for all ZEISS divisions and their customers, partners and agencies. As an IT Application Engineer (m/f/d) you are the technical contact person with global responsibility for applications with a focus on Content Creation as well as for planning and road mapping applications. You ensure the holistic process of optimal application operation in an on premise and cloud environment, from initialization and implementation to operation and maintenance of the required infrastructure and software components. Your Tasks:

• You will ensure the further development, operation, administration, maintenance and updating of our application environment and web servers as well as databases on premise and in the cloud
• You will provide 2nd and 3rd level support for the applications for which you are responsible
• You actively support the digitalization and standardization of internal processes and projects - As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for training of our global segments
• You will work closely with users as well as internal and external stakeholders, such as service providers or manufacturers, to always find the optimal solution for ZEISS.

Your Profile

• Successfully completed studies in computer science, business informatics, industrial engineering or IT business administration or comparable relevant IT training
• Experience in the areas of content management, planning and road mapping tools (e.g. SharpCloud) as well as content collaboration and real-time content distribution platforms
• Good knowledge in the configuration and maintenance of web servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Wildfly, JBOSS) and databases (preferably MS SQL and Oracle)
• In-depth knowledge of application management of common SaaS applications and web technologies as well as cloud platforms
• You have knowledge of service management processes according to ITIL
• You are confident in communicating at various hierarchical levels
• Business fluent English and good German skills are an advantage and round off your profile We require the following methodological skills
