The Division of Technology Services (DTS) is looking for a highly skilled artificial intelligence (AI) architect. This position reports to the IT Director - Tools, Automation, Standards and Education (TASE). Candidates should be self starters, able to work independently, driving innovation in our technology stack, be a team player, and contribute to the success of a great team!
This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and telework days (two days a week in office required). The office location is Taylorsville State Office Building 4315 S 2700 W, Taylorsville. Please note, a position’s eligibility for telework is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.

The chosen candidate will participate in these duties as a key contributor on AI proof of concept, pilot and production projects:

• Architect scalable and maintainable application AI solutions that meet business requirements.
• Identifies options and formulates solutions for intricate problems and challenges.
• Makes improvements and/or modifications to team standards/technical stack.
• Provides on-going technical guidance to management and staff involved in the planning, implementation, and administration of other technical environments, systems or platforms.
• Provides input to upper level management on the implementation of standards and guidelines.
• Related duties include specialty technical support, technology consulting, data administration, database analysis and design, application review services, mentoring staff, and leading application development.
• Provides technical assistance on agency issues, services, program(s), and/or computer hardware and software, etc.
• Anticipates the impact that new or modified software will have on existing standards and systems.
• Adapts automated system(s) to accommodate special and complex agency needs; designs or enhances agency unique automated systems to interface with existing systems as needed.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems related to architecting technical platforms or new/enhanced systems/environments.
• Designs, implements, tests and maintains required software.
• Establishes and documents standards for use and operation of software.
• Selects testing methods to evaluate the success of both software upgrades and modifications.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to developers.
