MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or another discipline relevant to the Healthcare industry.
  • 8-10 years of IT experience in large or midsized multinational Pharmaceutical, or Health Care organisation.
  • Experience leading teams - both with direct and indirect responsibility.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proven leadership skills, self-directed with strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to multi-task across multiple programs successfully.
  • Experience in setting IT strategy and business IT alignment.
  • Successfully managed project portfolio with projects ranging from $1MM-$10MM.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the complete software life cycle including privacy and security aspects.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Ability to collaborate with business leads, understand business strategy/processes, look for innovative solutions to drive business enhancements both for internal business users and external customers.
  • Work effectively with all levels of management up to and including Division Directors and VPs.
  • Technology Knowledge of the following disciplines a plus (Manufacturing Execution Systems: POMS, Scheduling tools, Agile, Cloud, Manufacturing Equipment, and Cybersecurity)

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This position is responsible for Business Relationship Management for Core Diagnostics IT Manufacturing. This role ensures the system portfolio enhances the organisational strategy through successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects and applications for our Manufacturing sites in Ireland. The BRM works directly with business clients to understand business processes and translate needs into IT opportunities. The BRM works in collaboration with the business in the development of investment roadmap, manufacturing strategies that align and integrate with the overall business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Excellent understanding of the business processes, strategy and global perspective.
  • Influences and partners with business to understand business strategy. Interacts on a regular basis with business leadership to ensure needs are understood and IT updates are communicated on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to turn business needs into user and functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with BTS Delivery and external vendors in the delivery of IT solutions per budget, timeline and service levels.
  • Reviews IT Statements of Work to ensure they clearly articulate the business need and elevate concern if estimates don’t align with the work effort required to deliver the solution.
  • Supports cross divisional business initiatives and explores IT synergies and efficiencies.
  • Champions change and innovation. Stimulates creativity and innovation in others. Open to new ideas.
  • Manages IT budgets, project capital/RCE expenditures and ROI. Continually looks for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.
  • Responsible for all aspects of people leadership and capacity planning.
  • Establishes staffing/resource plans determining appropriate mix of sourcing opportunities. Responsible for overall organizational effectiveness and vendor management.
  • Manage issues, risks and decision making within effective time-frame and outcome.
  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships across all levels within the Abbott IT organization and external suppliers.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
