Description:

  • 12 month engagement + extensions
  • Locations: ACT, QLD, SA & VIC
  • Ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance
  • Candidate must be an Australian citizen

Responsibilities and duties

  • Deliver change management for complex IT modernisation in line with frameworks, managing multiple interdependencies.
  • Provide change management expertise to IT and business areas and facilitate identification of change impacts; develop the plans and actions to mitigate the impact of change on people internal and external to the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain key collaborative internal and external stakeholder relationships. Including but not limited to liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Provide senior staff, change leaders and sponsors with the support to champion and communicate the anticipated changes.
  • Communicate change effectively to ensure project and delivery teams understand the change management approach, and the benefits it delivers for their project.
  • Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders from across the agency to develop the necessary products and tools to ensure the changes are implemented effectively and understood by impacted stakeholders.
  • Develop knowledge-sharing content in line with requirements identified in change management plan such as user documentation, Service Centre knowledge items and documentation/ instruction, in system text, etc
  • Develop, implement and deliver multi-channel, user-centred change communication strategies, transition materials and activity plans that support, and aligns to, the transformation and change narrative, and Australian Government Style Manual.
  • Create, edit and refine change communication materials in line with communication activity plans such as intranet pages, news item, newsletters, flyers, factsheets, videos scripts, presentations and talking points.
  • Design and deliver change communication needs discovery sessions and analyse the change communication needs of the Group, the Branches and Sections.
  • Report the Enterprise Transformation Group leadership team on change management and communication effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative data.

Key Personnel Expertise

Mandatory:

  • Understand Agile project delivery framework and have experience in managing IT change within an Agile project or Program.
  • Experience in a similar role in a complex IT environment operating in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working with Program Managers and Product Owners translating technical requirements into business processes.
  • Capability to develop reports/ dashboards in the department’s systems.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior executives and key stakeholders.
  • Experience using the preferred change methodology, Prosci.
