We are currently seeking an exceptional IT Director to oversee all aspects of Technology management across our Gleneagles and Estelle hotel and club brands, compromising 4 properties across the UK. The IT Director will be responsible for leading the IT team, implementing and maintaining Technology platforms, ensuring data security, and optimising technology usage to enhance our guest experience and operational efficiency.
The role is based at the Gleneagles Hotel, Auchterarder with occasional travel required to remote sites and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Crucially, you’ll be responsible for making sure that all of our IT systems are robust, function effectively and successfully support every area of our complex and diverse business, striving to make us best in class
  • Managing the efficient operation of our IT Support function, ensuring agreed SLAs are achieved and business operations are supported in a fast-paced 24/7/365 environment
  • Using your outstanding experience in managing a range of IT security solutions and providers to secure all elements of our business tech stack; ensuring the security of all data, networks, and systems, implementing best practices and security principles, you’ll ensure that every element of our business is protected
  • Ensuring all platforms are architected with security as a key consideration both during project delivery and throughout ongoing support
  • Developing and implementing our IT strategy, fully aligned with our business objectives and Hospitality IT trends; expertly balancing your technical expertise with innovation and creativity
  • Using your energy and drive to enhance productivity and the IT experience for our guests, and our people, at every touchpoint, sourcing and developing new technology solutions
  • A member of the Gleneagles Leadership Team, you’ll be collaborating with your fellow Heads of Department to truly understand their IT needs and develop incredible solutions
  • Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all IT systems, software, hardware and networking equipment
  • Managing IT opex and capex budgets, ensuring the cost-effective procurement of hardware, software, and services; you’ll also manage our internal and external IT audits
  • You’ll be the senior technical resource for all IT related issues, supporting your team with troubleshooting and ensuring appropriate technical support is available across all business-critical infrastructure and systems
  • Building strong working relationships with all third-party technology service providers, ensuring SLAs are achieved and contracts are best value
  • Developing and maintaining robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Maintaining comprehensive data management, security and payment policies to uphold privacy standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance across all operations, including advising on the response to SARs and data incidents across the businesses
  • Always staying up to date, ideally one step ahead, of industry trends and advancements in IT to recommend relevant upgrades and enhancements.
  • Managing and leading a team of IT professionals including system administrators and support specialists, including team members at remote sites, you’ll set the tone and lead by example
  • You’ll be developing a team culture where your team feel valued and convey this warmth and thoughtfulness to others through the delivery of exceptional service

The kind of person we’re looking for:

  • Alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, you have proven experience (5+ years) in a senior IT management role within the Hospitality industry
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of a Hospitality technology stack, including hotel property management systems (PMS), point of sale (POS) systems, payment platforms, membership/CRM systems and related hospitality technologies. Experience with
  • Experienced in managing network and server infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data protection, you’re also adept in managing cloud infrastructure and SaaS solutions, and administering and developing Microsoft 365 environments; you’re also knowledgeable in IT Management certifications such as CISSP and ITIL
  • You have strong project management skills, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • A strong communicator, you realise the power of information; you’re driven to support and help others, with little room for ego you converse effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the business
