Description
SAIC is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Director to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards that support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners to support the Warfighter in a full-spectrum operations environment.
This role of this position is to partner with the US Air Forces in Europe & Air Forces Africa Warfare Center (UAWC) Communications Squadron Commander to oversee the delivery of contract IT operations providing modeling and simulation (M&S) IT services. Success in this position directly impacts the training readiness of United States and partner military forces in Europe.

The IT Director will:

  • Lead subordinate Team Managers in the oversight of IT operations to include, but not limited to: network management, hardware management, software management, configuration management, cybersecurity vulnerability management, project management, data capture, performance reporting, and incident response.
  • Lead change in the organization to develop, execute, and manage a DevOps process.
  • Provide technical support and consultation on the installation, configuration, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repair of applicable software, hardware, and peripherals devices while providing accurate reports with recommendations for improvements.
  • Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate assigned staff. Manage the supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and performance of assigned staff. Work with employees to correct deficiencies, recommend and implement corrective action, and lead professional development.
  • Supervise the sustainment of the UAWC’s accredited domain enclave cybersecurity posture and compliance with applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs).

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a US Citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • A master’s degree plus 10 years of recent IT experience, OR; a bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of recent IT experience, OR; a major certification* plus 15 years of recent IT experience
  • DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Experience managing the DevOps process
  • Experience with Cisco and software-defined networking architectures.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare and VDI).
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework.
  • Familiarization with Linux OS.
  • Familiarization with provision and configuration automation.
  • Familiarization with SolarWinds.
  • Major certifications include: CASP+, CCIE, CCISO, CCSP, CFR, CISM, CISSP, CySA+, CNP, GCED, GCFA, GCIH, GCIG, JNCIE-SEC, Google Professional Cloud Engineer, M365 Enterprise Admin Associate, M365 Modern Desktop Admin Associate, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, RCHA, RHCSA, VMware CP, Sec+

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Familiarization with Kubernetes and/or containers.
  • Familiarization with cloud architecture.
  • Experience delivering IT solutions supporting Modeling and Simulations.
  • Experience with PL3 and PL4 Cross Domain Solutions.
  • Experience as IT Manager, Associate IT Director, or IT Director.
  • PMP Certification.
