Information Systems Services (ISS) is seeking to appoint enthusiastic IT Engineers to work as part of its IT Engineer team to work on the Windows 11 deployment project at Lancaster University.
As an IT Engineer you will be joining the IT teams who provide second-line technical support to users of the University’s IT services. As part of the role, you will be deploying Windows 11 to a range of end point user devices using Microsoft Intune provisioning, providing user familiarisation with Windows 11, carrying out on-site and remote technical support to end users of Windows 11 and ensuring IT asset management systems are kept up to date.
Additionally, you will be required to use ITIL based processes to deal with incidents and service requests, you will be involved in a wide variety of technical challenges, advice and preventative maintenance in support of the Universities Teaching, Research and administrative functions as we transition to Windows 11. This includes working alongside our AV services team with the support of IT and Audio-Visual equipment in a variety of learning spaces. This role will also work alongside the wider teams in ISS in helping support the delivery of new and existing services.
An experience of working in a team-based IT service environment, as well as knowledge of PC and Audio-Visual systems in use at Higher Education or equivalent establishments will be advantageous. You will combine your IT and problem-solving skills with a strong user-focus to ensure an excellent service to the user community.
The post will be normal business hours on campus, however on occasion there will be opportunities to undertake paid work outside those hours. You will be offered the opportunity to undertake a variety of training options.
