Description:
- Monitor major cloud and on-premises services including compute, storage area networks, security, services, applications, and networking pro-actively
- Respond to critical alerts and applies corrective actions to resolve problems while following best practice guidelines quickly and efficiently
- Provide day-to-day administration of on-premises and cloud-based solutions including but not limited to: Hybrid Exchange, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Office 365, VMware and other virtualization technologies, Windows server environment, Fortinet firewalls , network switches, Okta identity and access management, Citrix Cloud, HCI Hyper-V Clusters
- Address assigned user support tickets for both on-shore and at sea users by responding to concerns with hardware, applications and other system issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance for all systems, applications and hardware in areas of responsibility as assigned
- Act as point of escalation for tier 1-3 support tickets and provide user support where required
- Support the IT infrastructure and software on vessels remotely or in person when required
- Design, manage and administer backup and disaster recovery systems, perform regular checks to ensure proper operation
- Monitor enterprise SIEM, and other applications within the environment for security events, security bulletins and updates
- Oversee enterprise patch management services to apply updates, patches and fixes as required to maintain security standards
- Document problem resolution and provide documentation as required
- Participate in IT procurement, application deployment and testing as required
- Work with vendors and customers to implement business solutions through all phases of lifecycle management
- Automate repetitive business processes using scripts to increase system efficiencies
- Standby monitoring of the IT Emergencies as requested by the organizationHandle network administration and configuration on vessel and shore
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT role
- Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science or similar
- Azure, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, FortiNet Certifications strongly preferred
- Self-driven, organized, able to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent understanding of IT systems and infrastructure
- Able to travel internationally as required
