We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Lead to join our not-for-profit client, whose work benefits local residents in the Greater Manchester community. The organisation is undergoing a huge digital transformation, with significant investment going into their IT Strategy, and has doubled it’s IT department within the last 12 months.
To support this growth, they are looking for someone to support the IT Manager in improving, designing and implementing IT strategy and to ensure that systems, networks and core infrastructure are running at optimum efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in IT Infrastructure-based roles, have a broad knowledge of networking, server and virtualisation technologies, plus knowledge of cloud-based technologies will be a huge plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent knowledge of networking, server, storage and virtualisation technologies.
- Proven / hands-on experience of designing, deploying and maintaining Microsoft Azure / M365 solutions.
- WAN / LAN design and implementation.
- Any experience with Linux is advantageous
- VMware
- Experience of technical project planning and delivery
- Previous experience in a similar Infrastructure position.
- Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to key stakeholders across the business.
- Any Professional Qualifications (or relevant demonstrable experience)
This a hybrid role with a preference for the successful candidate to be office-based initially 2 days per week, so applicants should be within a commutable distance of South Manchester.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the SME for IT Infrastructure across the organisation and provide technical expertise related to infrastructure.
- Design, maintain and monitor core infrastructure and systems.
- Act as the final escalation point and product expert for all IT services.
- Supervise and mentor the Infrastructure Analyst.
- Ensure that Infrastructure systems, services and processes are compliant with relevant accreditations.
- Take responsibility for new and ongoing IT projects; scope, plan and manage projects using Agile methodology.
- Investigate and recommend technical strategic solutions, keeping existing infrastructure up-to-date and efficient.
