We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Operations Manager to join our team at Calor. This is a key role within the IT function, where you will play a crucial part in contributing to the overall team effort and supporting colleagues in other functions within IT, as well as peers in leadership roles within other parts of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the IT Operations Team (3 direct reports) to ensure efficient service delivery and a secure platform for Calor’s business operations.
  • Oversee the company’s technology infrastructure, both on premise and Cloud, ensuring it meets the needs of the business and is functioning effectively.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and partners involved in the delivery and support processes, ensuring services meet Calor’s requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including sister companies, to develop and agree on technical strategies.
  • Manage the transition of services from on-premises to cloud service providers.
  • Ensure the IT Infrastructure operates efficiently and securely, and implement new ideas and best practises to improve organisational performance.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and performance manage team members to ensure they are motivated and reach their full potential.
  • Challenge the status quo and seek out innovative solutions to evolving business challenges and changing customer needs.
  • Plan, design, and manage the IT technical architecture within the agreed budget.
  • Oversee the implementation of projects based on current and emerging technologies.
  • Maintain the integrity of Calor’s electronically held information by regularly reviewing and testing backup systems, disaster recovery planning, and contributing to the Business Continuity plan.
  • Act as the 3rd line IT technical specialist, delivering solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the IT budget.
  • Ensure efficient operation of the servicedesk.
  • Monitor and analyse infrastructure performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for infrastructure improvements and innovations that will benefit Calor’s business.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, such as technical manuals.
  • Address problems quickly and directly, provide effective feedback, and make difficult business decisions in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Build an inspired and committed team who understand their role in achieving the Business and Digital Strategy, while embodying Calor’s Values.
  • Delegate authority and empower others to make decisions concerning their areas of responsibility and to assume accountability for results.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the Head of IT.
