RBA are currently seeking an exceptional IT Portfolio Assurance and Control Specialist to provide project control and assurance support ensuring consistent application of the policies, principles, practices and new Ways of Working for IT-led initiatives across the IT portfolio.
We are seeking someone with specific experience with delivery assurance, technology risk and transformation. This role is newly established and will allow you to really make an impact at the Reserve Bank, it’s also cross-functional and will collaborate with delivery teams and delivery business partners.

Key Objectives

  • Ensure delivery teams are following the agreed practices, procurement policies, reporting standards, financial management and our RBA new Ways of Working.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvements of our IT delivery assurance and control processes ensuring it is efficient and fit for purpose.
  • Outline standards to embed best practices and relevant learnings.
  • Ensuring t our IT initiatives are set-up for success and are progressing in alignment with the direction agreed with IT, EPMO, Finance, Procurement, and other support partners.
  • Support project control and maintaining a central view of resource supply and demand for in-flight and upcoming projects, escalating any mismatch for remedial action.
  • Prepare materials and lead discussions in forums established for project selection, prioritisation, governance, and control across the portfolio.
  • Act as a central point of contact and coordination for Audit department, external parties, and vendors on project assurance, improvement, and control-related matters.

Your background

  • Proven experience in Project Assurance for both Hybrid and Agile projects.
  • Experience providing project control and governance support for a diverse portfolio of complex initiatives.
  • Track record of successfully delivering large and complex projects or programs.
  • Skilled in handling complex matters, prioritization, issue resolution, and risk management.
  • Advanced communication skills and ability to connect teams to value, purpose, and outcomes.
  • Proficient in creating concise and impactful executive reports.
  • Ability to analyse complex information into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Well-developed ability to embed tools and techniques within established processes.
  • Demonstrated capability in identifying discrepancies, trends, and interrelationships in project data.
  • Proven experience in tailoring procedures based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
