Responsibilities:

The Architect, Information Technology is responsible for proactively and holistically guiding the enterprise through transformation and optimization initiatives. Considered a working leader at TreeHouse Foods, contributes experience to their area of responsibility in support of highly complex large-scale initiatives. Effectively collaborates with Sr. Management, business partners, and suppliers to align priorities and plan/execute strategies that enable successful business transformation and continuous process improvement efforts. Develops policies and procedures that align with corporate vision. The scope of activities includes helping the organization achieve targeted business outcomes related to revenue growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation. The Architect works with senior leaders to develop operating models and architectures and drive business transformation while accounting for market trends, emerging technologies, and organizational readiness. Known for assessing disruptive forces and championing technology-led innovation, they can also lead a team of seasoned technical experts, including other managers of technical resources, when needed. Cultivates and effectively leverage productive relationships with strategic suppliers that benefit TreeHouse Food. Demonstrates impeccable judgment and instinctively knows how and when to adjust communication style appropriate to the audience and subject matter. Knows how and when to own the room vs. allowing others to. Widely respected in both IT and business. Ability to interact and converse with Sr. Management with ease. Consistently demonstrates sound judgment and successfully navigates high visibility, high-stakes topics. Instinctively understands the difference between optics and execution and when to emphasize one over the others. Requires minimal direction and thrives with little need for escalation. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Leads the analysis of business and operating models, market trends, and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on the enterprise’s business strategy, direction, and architecture.
  • Provides a perspective on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate and supports the formulation of business strategy.
  • Uses planning-driven, design-driven, and learning-driven approaches to construct future- and current-state enterprise architectures.
  • Facilitates business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive, and consultative manner, driving the organization’s digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth.
  • Constructs technology-enabled business and operating models and provides viable options and visibility into execution issues.
  • Scans emerging technologies and the business ecosystem for major disruptive technology and non-technology trends (trendspotting) that affect business. Provides practical advice and best practices to take advantage of new or emerging opportunities in their domain and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes.
  • Tracks and applies innovative technologies, anchoring them in the business and operating model to assess their potential, and uses agile and lean approaches to evolve and manage innovation.
  • Runs technology experiments in their domain to create new products and services and integrate the best of these into steady-state operations for the organization.
  • Leads analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend improvement solutions.
  • Leads the development of an implementation plan for the domain architecture based on business requirements and the varying IT strategies for project-driven or product-driven delivery teams.
  • Develops and applies standards and minimal viable architectures informed by the business strategy and corporate governance. Clarifies accountability and provides the focal point for agile, effective, and efficient decision-making.
  • Facilitates a collaborative relationship across the architecture community, business leadership, and solution delivery teams.
  • Collaborates with infrastructure teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture and identify when to modify it.
  • Works with business leaders to identify key drivers and targeted business outcomes to derive helpful business context.
  • Develops diagnostic and actionable deliverables that help guide investment decisions in support of executing business strategy.
  • Leads analysis of the business’ future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment, focusing on their primary domain, to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement to drive the business toward its targeted outcomes.
  • Identifies organizational requirements for the resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the enterprise architecture.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of initiatives with Sr. Management and growth-focused business transformation activities.
  • Develop and leverage partnerships (and relationships) with Sr. Management, business partners, and suppliers to meet business needs; build and nurture senior-level partnerships throughout THS that promote mutual trust.
  • Effectively measure and report results of service and development work to business partners in terms that they see as valuable and understandable.
