HOURS: 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri; 35 hours per week

Our mission is achieved through culturally appropriate programs such as counselling, childcare, educational, and employment services and youth development.
Who we look for: Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting the IT Department in providing help desk and technical support to users for a broad spectrum of issues including operating system, hardware, network and general software.

TO BE QUALIFIED FOR THIS POSITION UNDER THE CANADA SUMMER JOBS PROGRAM, YOU MUST ALSO:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
    **International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide helpdesk support, log inquiries, and resolve problems in accordance to SLA
  • Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software
  • Troubleshoot equipment such as printers and scanners and other peripherals
  • Monitor endpoint devices, antivirus software and updates
  • Repair and recover computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses
  • Assist in troubleshooting LAN/WLAN network problems
  • Support the maintenance of end user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses
  • Assist in the documentation of IT procedures
  • Report issues and assist with escalation management
