Brief Description:
Join our dynamic IT department at AmSpec Singapore, where we ensure operational excellence across our global enterprise. We are seeking a knowledgeable IT Support Specialist with expertise in desktop support, networking, and system administration. This role is crucial in maintaining our IT infrastructure and supporting our workforce of 300 employees. You will be instrumental in resolving complex technical issues, enhancing our IT capabilities, and working closely with our corporate centralized IT departments to support local users.
Reports directly to the IT Director based in Europe, who also manages our teams in Spain, India, the Middle East, and the Netherlands, this position requires effective collaboration within a culturally diverse and geographically dispersed team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide second-level technical support for end-users, addressing issues related to desktop systems, software, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot network problems, including issues related to switches, firewalls, and NAS devices.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell to automate routine tasks and streamline system operations.
  • Assist in the administration and support of SharePoint environments.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement new technology solutions and improve existing processes.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and maintenance logs.
  • Train users and staff on new technologies and IT procedures.
  • Work closely with centralized corporate IT departments and regional teams to ensure cohesive support and operations across the enterprise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or similar.
  • 2-5 years of experience in IT support within a midsize to large organization with prior experience in a global enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop and server operating systems, including Windows and MacOS.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and basic administration (knowledge of switches, firewalls, and NAS storage systems).
  • Proficient in scripting with PowerShell to automate tasks and manage systems.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with using a ticket system, preferably osTicket.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a diverse, global team environment.
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office / platform (especially Excel Macro, VBA, Access, SharePoint and Power BI).
  • Good technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
