Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has the enthusiasm and ability to work in a challenging but equally rewarding NHS IT environment. The post is for 12 months, but we hope during that time you will become part of a great team, whose primary role is to provide desktop IT support to users throughout the Trust and with providing quality, first point of contact for computer users requiring assistance via the IT Service desk working remotely or directly with the customer.
Please note: This role is based at Royal Preston Hospital with currently no option of home working.
You must be proficient in providing first line support across the End User Compute estate and also first line support knowledge of Networks, Servers and mobile technology. This post is one of a number at this level and will provide support to users at all Trust sites.
It is also essential that you are flexible, enthusiastic and can display high levels of initiative, together with the ability to work under pressure individually and as part of a team and undertake your duties with minimum supervision. You must possess good communication skills and be able to deal with users in a pleasant and efficient manner.
You may be required to participate in the Departments’ out-of-hours on-call rota and working on rotation based at Preston and Chorley Hospitals.

Provide quality support
Management and development of the Trust’s IT Services and systems
Troubleshooting problems and supporting the End User Compute and Voice estate
Network support (wired and wireless)
Storage environments
Active Directory management and remediation
VMware and Cloud environment support
Microsoft client and server products
Server/client hardware and IT security
Implement and develop processes across the 1st,2nd and 3rd line teams to improve workflow and knowledge management
