Job Description:

Our Chesapeake, VA team, supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC), has an immediate need for an IT Technician 3 with demonstrated experience providing tier 2/3 infrastructure support for enterprise-level networks. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for issues that arise on Windows-based enterprise networks
  • Respond to and update trouble calls using the Remedy ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues to determine and execute appropriate repair activities that will return equipment, system, or network to proper operational status
  • Lead or serve as a member of a team to conduct new installations and/or life cycle upgrades for shipboard ADP/IT networks
  • Work with shipboard personnel and/or other network support vendors to resolve computer network issues
  • Prepare and submit daily work reports

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess an IAT II-level security certification as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M
  • Must possess approximately 7 years of progressive IT experience
  • Must be available to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Must possess knowledge and/or skillset in some or all of the following areas: Windows Server (2008r2/2012/2016) operating systems, Windows 7/10 desktop operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory user and group administration, managing hardware and/or software deployments, server virtualization software (VMWare or Microsoft Hyper-V), Microsoft Group Policy design and configuration, CAT-5 and/or fiber optic cable deployment and repair
