Position Overview: As a Business Development Representative, you’ll play a crucial role in expanding the market presence of our client’s products. This entails fostering relationships with retail outlets such as department stores, specialty shops, and cafes, as well as managing catalog and online sales channels. You’ll primarily engage with distributors, conducting route sales and participating in negotiations with store buyers.
What does your next role look like?
Main Purpose of this role: The primary purpose of this role is to drive the expansion and market penetration of our client’s high-quality coffee equipment on a global scale. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for fostering relationships with distributors and retail partners, analysing market trends to create targeted proposals, conducting product demonstrations and seminars, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure efficient order fulfilment and quality control. Your efforts will be instrumental in enhancing the presence of our client’s brand and products in key markets worldwide, ultimately contributing to the company’s growth and success in the coffee industry.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with distributors and retail partners.
- Analyse market trends and historical data to create customer-focused proposals.
- Conduct product demonstrations, coffee seminars, and workshops for clients.
- Coordinate with internal departments for order fulfillment, quality control, and cost management.
- Travel internationally to attend coffee and tea trade shows and events.
- Negotiate distributor contracts and provide ongoing support to build strong partnerships.

- Previous experience in sales or business development preferred.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment. (within a small team)
- Proficiency in English and Japanese preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field in Australia.
