Description:
COGNIZANT DIGITAL ENGINEERING
Within Cognizant Digital Engineering, we help clients develop software products that transform human insights into tangible, production-ready digital solutions. We also work with our clients to scale their native cloud applications. Using insights from the lived experiences of our consumers, we seamlessly replace traditional service strategies with engaging, precise, and direct digital applications. Designing phenomenal software is vital to success in the digital economy—and we understand that a human-centric approach is key to this design.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are creating two new UK engineering teams and are looking for the most innovative, forward-thinking engineers with a growth mindset and an appetite for challenging our approach to software development. If you are open-minded, willing to learn and passionate about building software using great engineering practices then we want to talk to you.
These new teams will be using a variety of tech stacks and working with code, data, and configuration to rapidly deploy capabilities across EMEA markets to fill critical market needs using an inner source model. The successful applicants will be experienced software engineers with a curiosity for diving into new codebases and working in a variety of technologies to power and protect the growth of our International Card Services business.
When considering whether an Engineer is a great fit for our team, we won’t focus solely on languages used or experience, but their ability to think creatively, approach problems with an intelligent mindset, and above all their passion to Make Stuff Happen! We are looking for good communicators who feel comfortable reaching out to other teams and working through problems in a collaborative way.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver features with a focus on quality, predictability and throughput
- Be comfortable working in a nimble, agile environment which embraces uncertainty and evolving requirements
- Collaborate with engineers from other teams to align on design and contribution guidelines
- Identify engineering challenges and drive them through to a positive outcome
- Ensure our solutions are testable, intuitive and easy to maintain
- Drive good engineering principles, patterns, and practices
- Be an advocate for great developer experience
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Celebrate team achievements and failures
- Participate in hackathons, paid 5 days of self-development, innovation and product roadshows
