Description:
About the Role
As a Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing organizational performance and capability through the development and maintenance of efficient business systems and processes. From analysis to implementation, you will contribute to the delivery of effective solutions that support operational excellence and the achievement of business outcomes.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract

Our client is dedicated to the sustainable management and protection of Tasmania’s natural and cultural assets for the benefit of its communities and economy. They oversee various aspects of environmental management and emergency response
What you’ll do
- Undertake analysis, design, development, and support of complex software for departmental applications and other requirements.
- Liaise and consult with clients in the design and modeling of business solutions, especially business processes.
- Perform system and unit testing and develop technical documentation.
- Undertake research and investigation into technology solutions.
- Assist with technical advice to management and clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge in software design and development, including system architecture design, database development, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Experience in developing web services, preferably Java-based.
- Familiarity with agile software development practices, version control, and coding standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members effectively.
- The ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate initiative, and manage variable workloads.
- Well-developed organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle diverse responsibilities effectively.
