Description:

OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITY

You will work with special education graduates to faciliate their transition to work. You will design and implement support strategies to enable special education graduates with different disabilities profile (intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder or multiple disabilities) to integrate into their workplaces and retain in employment independently.
You will also work closely with various key stakeholders such as employers, co-workers, caregivers, support network, to help the special education graduates/persons with disabilities (PWDs) to secure and sustain employment.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree holder with at least 3 years of work experience, preferably in social service/disability sector, education or human resources
  • Experience in job coaching or client-facing roles would be advantageous
  • Dedicated to engage, understand and meet the diverse needs of clients and stakeholders
  • Able to work under pressure, adaptable to changing circumstances and versatile to take on other roles when called upon
  • Able to analyse and adapt coaching strategies to meet each individual’s needs
  • Strong player who is resourceful and capable to problem solve
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the PWDs to provide individualised coaching and job support through various mode of communications, e.g. online, face-to-face
  • Design and implement job support strategies for various job roles to better support the PWDs
  • Educate, share best practices and establish rapport with the employers, supervisors/co-workers to promote an inclusive work environment and create sustainable employment
  • Assess and provide recommendations on necessary workplace and process modifications to assist PWDs in job assimilation and tasks performance
  • Work with PWDs and their support network to help PWDs sustain employment, e.g. co-workers and caregivers to address and resolve work-related concerns
  • Provide training and advisory to PWDs’ employers, supervisors, co-workers as part of building natural support
  • Impart social and soft skills to PWDs as part of work preparation
  • Document case notes and submit weekly reports on PWDs’ progress, strategies adopted and outcomes
  • Maintain regular communication and provide timely and accurate updates to stakeholders, e.g. employers and caregivers on PWDs’ work progress and work performance
  • Participate in cross-divisional workgroup/s and provide ad-hoc secretarial support
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor
