Position: Job Coach - Youth Focus (16 - 30 yrs)

Department: Resource Center

Days/Hours/of Work: Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (37.5 hrs /week)

JOB OVERVIEW:

Job Coaches possess expertise in various domains, including engaging and guiding youth facing employment challenges in their job search, facilitating workshops, implementing sales strategies, marketing and promotions, and having a solid understanding of business and human resources.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual with in-depth knowledge of employable skills to support both job seekers and businesses. As a skilled relationship builder, you will network effortlessly with key stakeholders. You have a proven track record of working with diverse populations, including youth (16-30 years old), people with disabilities, individuals facing multiple barriers, Indigenous peoples, immigrants, survivors of abuse, and others. Your strong conflict resolution skills and ability to de-escalate clients in distress demonstrate your keen understanding of personal and professional boundaries and ethical practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience working with diverse client populations (i.e. youth, Indigenous People, people with disabilities, multi-barriered and rural residents)
  • 1+ years of experience in facilitation, teaching and/or coaching
  • Strong sales and promotions background
  • Previous involvement in basic human resource practices
  • Applied knowledge of effective, client-centered counselling approaches (i.e. motivational interviewing and active listening techniques)
