Job Description
Job Developers work with clients (one-to-one and in groups) to prepare for, find and maintain sustainable employment. They market clients to employers based on their strengths and employment goals and provide clients with ongoing coaching and support to successfully achieve and maintain sustainable employment. Job Developers market services to employers in order to create employment and placement opportunities for clients and to support employers in their hiring needs. They are champions of the program and utilize networking opportunities to create employment opportunities for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with job seekers to determine their individual needs and skills to market to employers in the labour market
  • Collaborating with Case Managers to ensure Client employment goals are in line with their action plan
  • Conducting and managing the schedule of one-to-one job development meetings
  • Developing employment opportunities for candidates by maximizing, implementing and maintaining sound marketing strategies (including candidate matching, effective customer service and follow-up activities), facilitating employment interviews and coaching participants in job interview strategies
  • Direct marketing to employers to promote specific candidate skill sets, marketing the right skills for the right job leads
  • Facilitating Wage Subsidy Work Experience Placements
  • Maintaining rapport with Clients pre/post-job placement to ensure candidates receive appropriate support to maintain employment
  • Maintaining knowledge of labour market trends, employment opportunities, employer hiring trends, and hiring practices in order to support the needs of clients and employers
  • Managing internal applicant tracking system including employer contact details and day-to-day Client activities and providing regular updates to Case Managers on candidate activity
  • Maintaining accurate Client notes and records as per policy and QI guidelines
  • Liaising with employers to organize targeted hiring events and connect them with other services throughout the YWCA
  • Act as a champion of the program, promoting our services throughout community and networking events
  • Working collaboratively to assist with outcomes of the larger job development team
  • Strategize with leadership to continually improve processes and increase employment statistics
  • Achieving targets as per performance-based outcome contract deliverables including employment goals and placement services targets, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve client outcomes and support client success in services
  • Adhering to onsite Health and Safety Procedures
  • Other duties as required
