Description:
The Staff Psychology Service (SPS) supports Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust to be trauma-informed, compassionate and psychologically-safe through supporting and promoting staff mental wellbeing across all levels of the organisation. We provide evidence-based psychological consultation, assessment, therapy and sign-posting to staff on a one-to-one basis. Our work with teams and staff groups includes facilitating Post Event Team Reflections (aka cold debriefs) following an extremely stressful incident; PITSTOP Hot Debrief Training; psychoeducational workshops and reflective spaces. Our work at the organisational level involves partnership working with key stakeholders; organisational consultation and development; support for managers and support for wider wellbeing initiatives (such as Schwartz Rounds) across the trust.
The SPS sits within the wider Clinical Health Psychology service that consists of Bariatric Surgery, Burns, HIV & Sexual Health, Intensive Care Unit, Irritable Bowel Disease and Pain within Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex Hospital.
As part of our commitment to address inequalities in healthcare, we are particularly keen to hear from applicants with lived experience relevant to the diverse communities we work with, and from those with particular skills in understanding and promoting anti-discrimination associated with protected characteristics.
The post-holder will work closely with the existing 8b Lead Psychologist to ensure the development, delivery and evaluation of a high quality, evidence based and effective staff psychological support service to support Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust staff across both the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, West Middlesex Hospital and other community sites. They will work in conjunction with senior staff from the Clinical Health Psychology service and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in order to determine strategy and agree an overall direction for service development. They will prioritise and deliver on agreed milestones within the Health and Wellbeing strategy and ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist psychological support service to the staff of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The SPS offers flexibility by delivering face to face and virtual options for service users. The postholder will be expected to work in person across both sites as required. A hospital shuttle bus connects these two sites. Hybrid working will be according to the service’s needs.
