Job Title: Journeyman - Instrumentation Maintenance Technician

Location: Fort McMurray, Oil Sands Region

  • Location: Oil Sands Site
  • Schedule: 10 days on, 4 days off (transitioning to 6 on, 1 off)
  • Hours: 12-13 hours/day, OT after 8 or 44 hours/week
  • Compensation: From $50/hr, DSP candidates $60/hr + OT
  • Travel: Flights from Edmonton & Calgary included, plus out-of-province travel allowance!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Journeyman in Instrumentation and Control Technician (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with direct experience in the oil sands industry highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation maintenance practices, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to teamwork, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on instrumentation equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Calibrate and configure instrumentation devices to optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project goals and operational requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and standards, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of maintenance strategies and practices.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and less experienced team members, fostering an environment of learning and development.
