Description:
ENVIRONMENT:
A dynamic and innovative company dedicated to revolutionizing the way people connect and interact online, is seeking a Junior Accountant who will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient financial operations. You will work closely with senior accountants and finance managers to assist in various accounting tasks, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial analysis, tax returns and annual internal audits, and general ledger maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in the field of accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of IFRS.
- Working towards an accounting qualification e.g. CIMA etc.
- Experience in working with Xero.
- Efficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment processing.
- Process all daily transactions of all business bank accounts in the counting system with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Process and reconcile all business credit cards.
- Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the general ledger system.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance financial controls.
- Support ad hoc finance projects and initiatives as needed.
- Prepare statutory tax returns, including Vat, Income Tax and Provisional Tax.
- Maintain positive Stakeholder relationships.
