SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of financial activities, including financial bookings, reconciliations, fixed asset accounting and compliance with financial guidelines and internal controls. The successful candidate should have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and a working knowledge of general accounting principles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Strong Excel skills (Intermediate to Advanced).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of German HGB.
  • Exposure to international financial accounting and multi-currency reporting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Navision or Business Central ERP systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience with software conversions.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Goal-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to tabulate statistical data and compile necessary reports.
  • Able to work with all departments professionally.
  • English language skills is desirable (Intermediate to Advanced).

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify, assign, and post both incoming and outgoing invoices utilizing our Business Central system.
  • Provide assistance with the maintenance of the general ledger and fixed asset accounting.
  • Execute postings related to bank transactions and payroll processing.
  • Coordinate account reconciliations, manage the clearing of open items, and aid in intercompany reconciliation processes.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, including the management of cash flows and minor cash transactions.
  • Engage in periodic physical inventory counts and ensure the reconciliation of inventory data within the ERP system.
  • Perform master data and accounting record maintenance to ensure data integrity.
  • Carry out detailed research and analysis as needed to support financial operations.
  • Uphold strict adherence to financial regulations, organizational policies, and SOX internal control mandates.
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Support to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Manage the administration of travel expense claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the dunning process, ensuring timely and effective account collection efforts.
