Your Role

Are you passionate about building new businesses at ZEISS? We are in search of a motivated, curious, and results-oriented individual to assume a role as Junior Beyond Innovation Manager within our Beyond Innovation vehicle. At ZEISS, this vehicle fosters high-risk business development and enables the company to explore new markets and technologies beyond its current fields (Beyond Fields), driving innovation and growth. Each Beyond Field gets funded for multiple years and has a dedicated team acting as a startup like business unit within ZEISS. The selected candidate will support activities within the Beyond Innovation vehicle like conceptual work, support of fields as well as day to day activities. They will support the preparation of decision documents, playbooks, and take ownership and responsibility in strategic projects. They will also support management and reporting tasks of ongoing Beyond activities, prepare new Beyond Fields. Responsibilities:

• Support preparation of decision documents and playbooks
• Take ownership and responsibility in strategic projects, mentored by experienced team members
• Lead sub-streams of projects under the supervision of Senior Beyond Innovation Program Manager
• Drive potential new beyond activities
• Support management and reporting activities of ongoing Beyond Fields
• Support consolidation and reporting of overall Beyond vehicle to allow EB / VB reporting
• Support preparation of new Beyond Fields

Your Profile

• A degree with excellent final grades in economics, natural sciences, engineering, or a combination
• Previous experience managing small projects or workstreams of larger projects
• Experience performing market assessments and business building/deep tech innovation
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to structure tasks
• Experience preparing decision documents for executives
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Capabilities to quickly adapt to new tasks and a strong independent and ownership mentality
• Ability to communicate and work in diverse teams and manage different stakeholders
• A curious nature for new topics and an impact-oriented mindset
