- Experience with civil design packages such as Microstation OpenRoads, Microstation InRoads, or Microstation Geopak
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BE CHALLENGED TO DO:
TranSystems’ Santa Ana office seeks a motivated and talented bridge engineer to join our growing engineering team. This position will include civil engineering design, construction document preparation including CAD design, specifications and estimates for a variety of projects, including rail, road, airport infrastructure, coastal development, industrial site development, storm water management and utilities design projects. Day to day assignments and technical guidance will be directed by current staff Project Managers. This position will also involve coordination with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and personnel in the Santa Ana office and other TranSystems offices.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review design calculations
- Research design alternatives, code requirements and present findings
- Prepare and review reports, contract drawings, cost estimates and specifications
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager as to expected results, workload, and progress
- Advocate for, lead, and mentor entry level engineers
- Communicate and attend meetings with clients, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Engage in business development activities including information gathering, preliminary design and proposal writing
- Develop accurate engineering designs and plans with quality presentation, while meeting project budgets, schedules, and company standards
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
