CMC Markets are hiring! We are currently recruiting for a Junior Business Analyst to join our Technical Business Analyst Team on a permanent basis . Please note that this role is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (Citizen/Permanent Resident).

Role
The Junior Business Analyst role will work closely with the Stockbroking Development Team, based in Sydney, as well as with stakeholders across the business, external vendors, and partners. Development at CMC is based on an agile methodology, and the successful candidate will need to be hands on, with an ability to scope out requirements, document to the extent necessary, and work closely with the development team and stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver agreed changes.
This role will include both technical and operational analysis, and the successful candidate may work on projects involving software delivery, automation, process mapping and other tasks as required by the business. The role is primarily based in Sydney CBD, but the successful candidate may be required to work in other CMC offices from time to time (including in Chatswood).
Please note that we operate onsite working and would require you to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product owners, project managers, BAs, and development teams to understand business needs as they relate to new opportunities and continuous improvement.
  • Gather requirements for IT development projects and initiatives by conducting interviews, workflow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions
  • Produce mock-ups and work with development teams to develop solutions that are both effective and achievable.
  • Support our continuous improvement, BA best practices, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Create precise and accurate user story acceptance criteria that will be used by developers, testers and product owners to ensure user story intent is effectively captured.
  • Present demos and engage in knowledge sharing within the Product team and wider teams where necessary.
  • Maintain documentation and keep stakeholders updated on any changes to project requirements.
  • Assist the product team in maintaining analysis documentation and keeping it up to date.
  • Provide support to other teams and work together to achieve business objectives.
  • Be actively involved in all aspects of a project lifecycle from discovery to delivery and post-implementation review.
  • Coordinate end-user acceptance test across all CMC offices.
  • Prepare and deliver training material for end users. Conduct and support user-training activities.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders to create, manage and prioritise a backlog of epics and stories.
  • Identify design and system options for deliverables and provide recommendations on how best solutions can meet business requirements.

Key Skills And Experience:

Essential:

  • 1+ years of Business Analyst experience or a similar role.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of retail or institutional stockbroking or banking.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Excel, Jira, Teams, Miro, Confluence.
  • Experience with broking back-end systems such as GBST Shares, DCA. SecuritEase or TCS BaNCS
  • Knowledge of business analysis involving the improvement of end-to-end user journeys is highly desirable.
