The Jr. Buyer will assist the Purchasing manager with the planning and buying of inventory as well as purchase requisition and purchase order management, vendor communication and management, inventory replenishment and process management. The candidate must be highly organized and be able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, collaborate and communicate within a team environment, both written and verbally. They must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines. This individual will be proactive, resourceful, and driven by a high sense of urgency.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist purchasing manager in strategically planning and managing inventory and analysis including: strategy improvements, presentations, KPI’s, reports and recaps to ensure inventory availability
  • Maintains and analyzes inventory shortage management by proactively identifying and tracking upcoming risks with a comprehensive action plan
  • Maintains and manages inventory availability by completing buy analysis, proactively maintaining inventory baselines and projections
  • Manages open, outstanding and upcoming orders to ensure product availability and prevent shortages
  • Cross-departmentally focused spending time alongside other departments by understanding outstanding shipments, inventory impacts and factory optimization
  • Manages the reorder process by identifying issues with data analysis to ensure consistent flow of product
  • Manages supplier base focusing on time delivery, pricing, and chargebacks in collaboration with Quality Control/Assurance, Product Development, and other internal stakeholders
  • Maintains purchase order status, expedites and provides information as needed pertaining to delivery of product
  • Accurately manages and maintains ERP systems
  • Provide administrative support to the Purchasing Department including: report generation and analysis related to the buying and planning functions
  • Other duties/projects as assigned in support of purchasing department

This job might be for you if::

  • Bachelor’s Degree in merchandising, business administration or related area.
  • 2+ years of experience in merchandising or other related position
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Understand basic retail formulas with the ability to audit data entry for errors
  • Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organization skills with the ability to handle critical deadlines/prioritize work and business processes
  • Ability to multi-task regularly and work independently in a fast-paced environment
