You will join a dedicated buying team with a young, informal environment that encourages new ideas and supportive colleagues. We collaborate closely with various VERO MODA functions, including Buyers, Designers, Pattern Designers, and Sales. If so, you might be our new Junior Buyer joining VERO MODA’s Woven Buying team, based in our Aarhus C headquarters.
As a Junior Buyer in our Woven team, you’ll be entrusted with your own collection segment from the start. You’ll have daily contact with suppliers, participate in collection launches, negotiate prices, qualities, and deliveries, and follow up on progress. This requires a naturally structured approach and a meticulous eye for detail when following up on sales samples, fitting samples, and styles for presentations. You’ll also have frequent contact with VERO MODA colleagues and external suppliers, building strong relationships. More specifically the tasks include:
- Collection Development: Collaborate with the design team to initiate collections, track best-selling styles and qualities, and create styles and assortments in our internal systems.
- Sourcing and Negotiation: Source alternative fabrics, negotiate prices with design, and approve colors and qualities for sales samples and production.
- Logistics and Delivery: Ensure timely arrival of collections, prepare them for presentations, place orders, follow up on deliveries, and provide daily support to suppliers and BESTSELLER’s international buying offices.
- Sustainability: Source and develop new sustainable fabrics
To succeed in this role, you need to be a skilled communicator and coordinator, capable of creative thinking while ensuring tasks are completed with meticulous attention to detail. You also need to be organized and focused in a fast-paced and creative environment where not everything is planned. You will need a solid understanding of numbers and possess good business acumen. You thrive in a role with multiple stakeholders and tasks to manage simultaneously.
- Relevant education in buying
- Minimum 2 years of buying experience, preferably in fashion
- Good understanding of figures and business acumen
- Solid IT skills, including experience working in Exce
