Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team and support the buying functions for VF Brands as a Junior Buyer. Reporting to the Buyer you will collaborate and work closely to provide essential support in executing product strategies for the brand portfolio, under the Buyer’s guidance. With the opportunity to take ownership of your own portfolio, attention to detail and a keen eye for buying is essential for this role, demonstrating the ability to complete administrative duties related to the buying process, ensuring accuracy and organization in all tasks.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist the Buyer in coordinating merchandise selections, including marketing, budgeting, price architecture, and exploring opportunities with new suppliers.
  • Attend all Brand showings with the Buyer
  • Take ownership of select brands and the administrative duties related to the buying process, ensuring accuracy and organization in all tasks.
  • Support the Buyer in sourcing new products and suppliers, actively seeking out options that align with the portfolio’s objectives.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to contribute to the development of promotional plans that align with key brand stories and campaigns.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the retail team to keep them informed about relevant department issues.
  • Assist in managing and organizing crucial documentation related to your portfolio.
  • Generate reports as needed to provide insights and updates on the progress of your responsibilities.
  • Costing files – responsible for the product masters which also support wholesale.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE:

  • Demonstrated previous experience in a similar retail buying position – Buyers Assistant or similar trainee role.
  • Proficient in Excel – analysing data, data entry and managing reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to create, plan, monitor and execute multiple reports.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to problem solve and take initiative.
