Description:

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) is establishing a talented and diverse international team to create a cutting-edge quantum programme in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. At the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, where the formulation of Quantum Mechanics was born 100 years ago, we aim to establish an international quantum computing programme, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, that will drive research and innovations at multiple levels - from developing scalable quantum processor technologies to solutions for the quantum-classical control and readout interface, and all the way to quantum algorithms and applications. The long-term mission of the programme is to develop fault-tolerant quantum computing hardware and quantum algorithms that solve life-science-relevant chemical and biological problems.
NQCP is looking for a junior engineer to support our material characterization efforts. You will be working across multiple tools and platforms, enacting characterization protocols for our novel materials and reliably and precisely extracting relevant metrics. This will be done in close collaboration with the materials growth and fabrication teams as well as various international partners from industry and academia.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have some of the following qualifications:

  • Masters degree in physics, engineering, materials science or related
  • Some experience with techniques including: atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, electrical measurements, optical microscopy.
  • Experience with process engineering concepts, automation and data logging.
  • A service minded approach and willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a complex research program.
