OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

Our Vancouver Team is seeking a Junior Civil Designer/Technologist to join our team. Under the direction and training of senior staff, the successful candidate will assist with producing general arrangement, layout and detail drawing while adhering to company procedures, engineering criteria, design standards and applicable codes. You will work using AutoCAD and Civil3D and interface regularly with other disciplines, vendors and customers. Secondary duties may include surveying, material testing and site inspections. You have a solid commitment to fostering and maintaining strong relationships with our clients.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Diploma of Technology in a civil program
  • 2-8 years of design experience using AutoCAD and civil 3D, as well as layout and as built experience
  • Experienced in some but not necessarily all of the following, general arrangement bridge design, structural bridge designs, resourc3s/MOTI road design, civil site plans, drainage designs, land development, or transportation design, earthworks modelling and volume calculations; reduction of as-built and topographic survey data; and drone data processing
  • Knowledgeable in preparation of conceptual and final grading, servicing and road design
  • Preference will be given to candidates with civil construction and/or survey experience
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Membership with ASTTBC would be an asset, but not necessarily needed given appropriate experience
  • Good organizational skills, technical competence and strong attention to detail
  • Enjoys learning a variety of tasks while working with a highly motivated, knowledgeable group of people
