Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

The post holder will be required to:-

  • Support Consultants and senior Doctors in all department activities
  • Take responsibility for inpatient work
  • Participate in ward rounds.
  • Undertake one or more research/Audit/Quality Improvement projects of his/her choosing.

The work of the Department (In-patient facilities at Fairfield General Hospital include):-

  • Acute Medical Unit Coronary Care Unit
  • Hyperacute Stroke Unit
  • High Dependency Unit
  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Ambulatory Care Unit
  • 5 Acute Medical Wards
  • 2 Stroke Rehabilitation WardsOut-patients clinics, both general and specialist are held on site where follow ups and rehabilitation of elderly patients are under-taken. The department is supported by various paramedical services. Nurse clinicians and medical support workers have been appointed to assist with the reduction of junior doctors’ hours and intensity of work.
