CFCU Community Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Credit Analyst to assist the Business Lending Department in analyzing financial statements and tax returns to evaluate cash flow and viability of the business. Review underwriting documents to assess and make recommendations about credit applications using a range of criteria. Limit the Credit Union’s risk of losses by monitoring the quality of the loan portfolio and keeping management informed of potential losses, trends, and compliance problems. Provide support to the Business Lending Team by completing required monthly/quarterly reporting and serve as a back up to the Senior Credit Analyst as necessary. The successful candidate will represent CFCU’s values to the highest regard not only to staff but to the outside community as well.
Requirements:
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics.
- Two to five years of similar or related experience in a credit union or other financial institution.
- Experience in all aspects of lending including real estate, commercial, and consumer is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.)
- Must have attention to detail and be able to multitask.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently support the Senior Credit Analyst in the management and administration of commercial loans, including ensuring the effective control of loan security.
- Completes a full evaluation of business loan applicants including credit bureaus, cash flow analysis, collateral values, and Risk Ratings.
- Prepares spreadsheets and analyzes financial information including financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, rent rolls and other necessary loan documentation.
- Reviews loan requests and assists in recommendations on loan structures and terms to loan officers. Prepares a written presentation on each new loan and ensures that loan proposal meets CFCU business policy requirements.
- Conducts annual reviews of lines of credit and business loans, obtains tax returns, current credit reports and conducts a new cash flow analysis.
- Responsible for updating Rates in the system weekly as required.
- Completes and compiles Monthly and Quarterly Reports. Support the team as needed in completing special projects aimed at monitoring the credit risk of the portfolio.
- Completes Quality Reviews of Closed Loans, Line of Credit Advances and Floor Plan Requests as needed.
- Build and utilize working relationships with internal business partners across the organization and external contacts if required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
