Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As a Junior Data Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our data protection standards and ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations. You will report directly to the CTO, who has overall responsibility for data protection within the company, and will work closely with all teams across the organisation. This is a full-time role but we are open to considering candidates who wish to work part-time.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop, update, and manage data protection policies to ensure they are comprehensive and compliant with current regulations;
  • Handle all data protection-related inquiries from customers, schools, and other stakeholders, providing clear and accurate information;
  • Participate in calls with schools and customers to answer data protection questions and ensure their compliance with our data policies;
  • Educate and train employees across the company on data protection practices and compliance requirements to foster a culture of privacy awareness;
  • Work closely with our engineering and People team to ensure all projects and initiatives comply with data protection laws and internal policies;
  • Process data subject rights requests, including Subject Access Requests, ensuring all requests are handled confidentiality within the legislative timescales.
