SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1+ years previous experience in technology related field or customer service is preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Previous experience using ticketing software
  • Installing, configuring, and using a variety of operating systems (Windows 10, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux)
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Okta preferred
  • Demonstrated curiosity, desire to learn, and coachability
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

The Junior Desktop Engineer will be stationed in our employee helpdesk, serving as our first point of contact for technical issues. This customer service focused role is responsible for day-to-day support of our laptops, desktops, AV equipment, and software applications. This role has an emphasis on provisioning and deprovisioning new hires including laptop deployments. On-call, after hours support may be required on rare occasion.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, operating systems, and software
  • Deploy new hire laptops and upgrade existing employees to new laptops
  • Administer access, permissions, and privileges for on-site resources and cloud services
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of IT internal and user-facing processes
  • Monitor hardware and software inventory and keep key IT equipment in stock
  • Coordinate with outside vendors of hardware, software, and services to provide a seamless experience for end users, anticipate future needs, and control organizational costs
  • Investigate, understand, and resolve problems with local and remote infrastructure
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
