JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the Ops & FDIR Systems department, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support the specification and development of the advanced platform & instrument OPS/FDIR concept under the direction of the FA system architect;
  • Interface to RAMS for FDIR related topics Close collaboration with the customer and other FA disciplines (particularly OPS, SRDB and SW), especially for advanced Avionics studies;
  • Specify the OPS/FDIR requirements related to the platform’s on-board software and Payload software, with a focus on advanced OPS/FDIR applications;
  • Supporting the definition of project-specific on-board monitoring (e.g. through the package Utilization Standard - PUS) and the associated telecommands and telemetry, in close detail;
  • Coordination with the satellite platform concept;
  • Compilation and coordination of the database inputs for on-board monitoring and diagnostics;
  • Telemetry and ensuring consistency with the contents of the TM/TC database;
  • Writing related chapters of Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and Instrument User Manual (UM), in which the fault detection, isolation and recovery of the platform and the instrument to be described;
  • Development and testing of related spacecraft operating procedures (SOP) and onboard control Macro Procedures (OBMPs);
  • Specification, execution and analysis of all platform and instrument tests in the OPS/FDIR environment, with a focus on advanced OPS/FDIR applications;
  • Supporting the provision of inputs for data processing;

Onboard software test documents and test specifications in coordination with the disciplines Architects

QUALIFICATIONS

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in electronics or aeronautical engineering.
  • Experience in defining and implementing user requirements is desirable
  • Experience with innovative technologies (AI, MBSE, etc) is a strong plus
  • Experience in an FA area is desirable
  • Team player with good communication skills and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment Project team;
  • Experience in FDIR or Ops development in FDIR design concepts for satellite platform and instrument is a strong asset
  • Experience in proposal preparation of R&D studies (ESA, DLR…) is a strong plus point
  • Good knowledge of TM/TC data flow of the ground system and/or operational phase of the satellite is desirable
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German will be considered as an advantage.
