Job Introduction
We’re looking for an exceptional Junior DevOps Engineer to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our Junior DevOps Engineer, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we’ll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Basic technical knowledge: You have a fundamental understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and tools, as well as some experience with routing and switching technologies. Additionally, knowledge of data manipulation techniques and tools is important. You also have experience working with Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Debian, and using command-line tools and shell scripts.

- Basic knowledge of programming languages and scripting: You should be familiar with at least one programming language, such as Python or Java, and be able to write simple scripts to automate tasks and processes using scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.Willingness to learn: You have a desire to learn and improve their skills in automation, networking, data manipulation, and DevOps practices. - Collaboration: You have the ability to work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient data manipulation and routing. (Better Together)
- Problem-solving: You have a the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic issues related to data manipulation and routing in a timely manner.

• Providing support to operational services, mainly Linux based.
• Work with the appropriate processes to manage Change, resolve Incidents and manage Problems on the services.
• Support services proactively in terms of monitoring Lifecycle Management, Capacity Planning and Service Improvements.
• Support colleagues in the team and in IT Operations in order to ensure a high-quality service is maintained.
• Contribute to a program of changes looking at improving the service delivered in terms of exploiting new capabilities, reducing risk, removing unnecessary complexity or reducing the cost to the organisation.
• Work in an operational environment and tackle operational issues which are affecting business continuity, including occasionally supporting IT Operations colleagues outside normal working hours.
