Description:

The Growth Engineering function provides the technical expertise to help Uniper achieve their goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2035. Within Growth Engineering, the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Team deliver specialist engineering support to a diverse range of projects including hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and transport, gas-storage, renewables, grid support systems (such as battery storage and synchronous compensators), carbon capture and storage and conventional generation plant. As part of Growth Engineering, we are involved throughout the project life cycle from initial concept to commissioning and handover which presents our engineers with great opportunities to apply their knowledge, skill, and experience in a wide variety of scenarios. In the changing and developing world of energy production our engineers are presented with innovative and novel concepts which lead to new challenges and the opportunity develop their own skills and knowledge. Responsibilities:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and initiative-taking junior electrical engineer to support and contribute to the engineering of project deliverables and the diverse range of challenges their role presents. This individual shall possess some or all of the following:

  • Experience of working on power engineering projects within hydrogen, gas-storage, renewables, battery storage and conventional generation plant environments.
  • Experience of the development of HV and EHV distribution network and grid connection schemes.
  • Experience of contributing to technical feasibility studies and front-end engineering design for HV and LV electrical installations and equipment.
  • Experience of creating technical specifications for HV and LV electrical installations and equipment.
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplined teams of permanent, temporary, and sub-contractor colleagues to deliver solutions on construction, installation, or major overhaul contracts.
  • Experience of witnessing factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, equipment commissioning and plant handover.
