YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS

  • The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office® products and web-based applications
  • A passion for EHS legislation within Canada
  • An interest in and/or experience conducting compliance and/or management system audits
  • An interest in and/or an understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and similar standards
  • An interest in and/or experience with development and implementation of EHS management systems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or similar scientific discipline
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in the environment and/or health and safety field
  • Be eligible for, and work towards achieving, an EP(CEA), EP(EMSLA), CHSC, CRSP or other similar professional designation

Responsibilities:

  • Tracking EHS regulatory requirements and preparing reports for clients on relevant updates/amendments to these regulatory requirements
  • Review and understand the application of EHS legislation, codes and standards (municipal, provincial and federal) with respect to a variety of sectors (e.g., oil and gas, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, water, wastewater)
  • Preparing auditing protocols, data management and interpretation, preparing technical reports
  • Assisting in the development of EHS compliance programs
  • Assisting with the development of management systems, including developing procedures, developing and delivering EHS training programs
  • Supporting performance of environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance and management systems audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CSA Z773, etc.)
  • Interacting with project managers, EHS team members, and clients to meet task and budget requirements
  • You will be trained to take on increasing responsibility within the EHS team completing projects and proposals and will work closely with and support senior EHS practitioners and project managers. This position will require travel to client sites for audits, information gathering and client meetings.
