Position Details: Full-time, 15-month term
Salary Range: Starting salary will be $52,700, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
Location: Remote/hybrid in Stonewall, MB

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of an Accounting Diploma or a combination of experience and diploma from a different program
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Finance or related areas
  • Strong proficiency in Dynamics 365 and MS Excel
  • Salesforce, Power BI, MS Team experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of specific technical accounting rules (Employee Benefits, Expense Management, Financial Reporting)
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for monitoring automatic and manual integrations between DUC accounting and other transaction processing systems, supporting accounting helpdesk function, performing several corporate accounting reconciliations, preparing various financial reports, processing accounts payable payments and building new processes and assisting with the design, testing and documentation of new system integrations.
This position is involved in coordinating with external software vendors in the testing and implementation of Dynamics 365 version upgrades and processes; and communicating changes to end users.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and maintain process documentation for assigned accounting processes and related procedure documentation.
  • Perform reconciliations between related systems with financial components to validate completeness and accuracy of transactions across systems and the data in Dynamics365.
  • Maintain system integration workbook for reference in training and process and dataflow design.
  • Work with other Finance staff in preventing and correcting workflow errors in various financial systems.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets to resolve issues for users. This includes escalating issues with the Financial Systems Analyst or IT Department.
  • Assist the Financial Systems Analyst in documenting system issues and following up on procedures for resolution with the external software vendor (Microsoft for Dynamics365).
  • Coordinate with users to complete the implementation and testing of Dynamics365 version upgrades (3 times per year) and assist in the review of new features available in each new version.
  • Upload large blocks of data to Dynamics365 through the Data Management workspace to create general journals or to update information in a data entity (i.e. updating financial dimensions in a large selection of projects).
  • Maintain access for Power BI users. Setting up and termination new users within Dynamics, this also includes termination of Power BI access.
  • Liaise with internal company business units to solve their issues or support in Power BI usage.
  • Assist national finance leadership and regional business units with compiling budget/projection information.
  • Prepare quarterly and year end calendar with Manager of Corporate Accounting which is approved by the corporate controller & conservation controller. Post weekly calendar task reminders during peak times to the Finance Teams Channel.
  • Works with a variety of data sources, identify and solve data discrepancies in the reports.
  • Assist with FP&A report maintenance.
  • Assist fundraising staff with monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis to support business unit decisions and monitor progress relative to company objectives.
  • Work with other members of the organization to answer their business questions regarding their reporting needs.
