Junior Health and Safety Officer

Ayrton Group are seeking a Junior Health & Safety Officer to join our client, a construction contractor, on a school build project in the Tipperary region.
This is an 6-month contract role with the potential for extension, commencing in early July.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Recognised qualification in Health and Safety.
• 1 year of post qualification experience as a Safety Officer in Construction environments is preferred.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
• Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.

• Assist with regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
• Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
• Assist in the initiation and organization health and safety training on-site as required.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment.
• Manage, develop, and maintain incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
• Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
• Carry out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
