From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology – we’re integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.
Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.
As a Storm Drainage Design Entry-Level Engineer for our designated Design-Build team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of exciting, experience-building infrastructure projects, including some of the region’s largest transportation projects.
Our Bellevue-based team is seeking a Junior-Level Storm Drainage Design Engineer to work on Design-Build projects. In this role, you will work on complex design-build highway and fish passage projects for Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and others. Design-Build projects provide you the opportunity to work and learn from members of our large delivery team and the contractor, allowing you to see your design constructed shortly after plans are released. You will advance your technical skills while gaining valuable experience to grow your career at Jacobs.
As an Entry-Level Storm Drainage Design Engineer, you will work with a team and conduct stormwater design and drainage design revisions made throughout the duration of the Design-Build contracts. You will be focused on production of the final design plans and calculations that meet WSDOT standards and the Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
You will work on storm drainage design and hydraulic modeling on highway and fish passage projects. Work may include preliminary design for the proposal to final construction documents including writing and assembling stormwater and hydraulic reports. Typical activities may include helping with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and related calculations as well as production of construction plans, including drafting mark-ups, and production of drainage reports. Hydrology and hydraulic models used for typical projects include WWHM, MGSFlood, and others required to meet state and local agency requirements.
In this role you will receive mentorship and training from senior project management professionals and subject matter experts and have ample opportunity for career growth. Join our hard-working, fun team and help us serve our communities while protecting the environment—one storm drainage design at a time!

Typical benefits offered include flexible work schedules and opportunities to work remotely, educational reimbursement, retirement benefits, employee stock purchase plan, health benefits, disability benefits, life and accident insurance, voluntary benefits, paid time off and paid holidays, and parental leave.
Typical salary range for this position is $64,000 to $112,00 for an Entry level role and $75,800 to $132,600 for an Intermediate level. Final pay determination is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
