JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a technically strong, professional, proactive Junior Mechanical Engineer to join
our growing team. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who is a team player and
is a good problem solver. Travel to a local client site several days a week may be required as part of
this role. All other work can be performed from home or from one of our regional Canadian offices.
Responsibilities
 Supports engineering design of mechanical equipment, material handling and piping as part
of a multi-disciplinary team.
 Follows direction of lead Mechanical engineer on projects to support delivery on schedule
and budget.
 Review and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering applications.

 Supports equipment procurement by producing purchasing documentation, soliciting
quotations, and evaluating vendor bids.
 Liaise effectively across engineering disciplines and designers.
 Understands and implements all relevant systems, standards, practices, and procedures
required by the contract.
 Maintains health, safety and environmental focus to ensure that these elements are
embedded in the design and procurement processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Canadian jurisdiction – Required.
 Experience: 0-5 years of relevant Engineering experience in a heavy industrial setting (Oil &
Gas, mining, pulp and paper or biofuels an asset).
 Ability to travel to the local job sites as required.
 Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members, proficient in oral and
written communication.
 Proactive with a high degree of initiative.
 Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
 Excellent grasp of engineering principles and experience assessing complex systems.
 Ability to work in both a design office and operating plant environments.
 Bilingual language skills an asset - English/French
